«What?»

Chris
looked at Hayle who suddenly put his hands on his stomach as they were talking,
it was too soon for the babies to be arriving, at least that was what they both
assumed so he found himself instantly on the alert either way.

“I think I
felt a kick, or maybe two?”

Drawing a
little bit of a sigh of relief, he motioned for his husband to come closer.

“Can I?”

Hayle
nodded, it was the first time he had felt movement like that, and it felt like
a very strange yet special moment. Feeling his husband’s hand’s ever so gently
rest on his stomach just made him smile, realizing it was probably just as
special for him to have this experience.

“Your
right, there is movement.”

Hayle put
his hands over his husbands, feeling how the little movements and kicks made
both their hands move ever so slightly.

“Does it
hurt?”
“No, it is a little bit uncomfortable though.”

Chris
pulled himself up a bit, gently kissing Hayle’s growing stomach.

“Now, you
behave in there, no making your dad uncomfortable, okay?”

At first,
he had thought about taking them to a doctor, to see if the baby was okay and
all that, but he realized that taking a dragon to a ultrasound and doctor’s appointment
might just not be a good idea. So in the end, they had just decided as long as
Hayle seemed okay, they would let this just run its course.

“Maybe if
you sing?”

Although he
had a hunch that would calm down the little one, it was just as much for his
own benefit. His husbands singing had always calmed him down and helped him
relax too.

“Better
now?”
“mm, much better, I think you will need to sing a lot from now on.”
“I think I can do that.”

Chris
usually walked around the house humming to himself, something Hayle loved, but
there was always that feeling he got when he knew he sang for him that he
couldn’t explain, and it would seem the little one agreed too.

“Can you
sing some more.”
“As many as you like.”
